Dr. Westerhof worked as an assistant in several day time vet practices since 2004 and at Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids since 2008. She went back to school as a non-traditional student part time at GRCC in 2006 to start a degree. Dr. Westerhof completed an Associate’s in Science at Grand Rapids Community College. She then pursued a Bachelor's degree at Grand Valley State University. She was accepted to Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduated and is now working at Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids again as a veterinarian! Dr. Westerhof has a passion for emergency medicine as demonstrated by working in emergency for 10 years! She has a home in Grand Rapids with her husband and pets, including 2 Chihuahuas named Maggie & Penny, a large grey old man cat named Joseph, and a young troublemaker tabby cat named George. Dr. Westerhof enjoys yoga, hiking, crocheting and movies in her free time!
