Dr. Keizer worked as a veterinary assistant at Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids during her second year of veterinary school at Michigan State University. In addition to finding emergency and critical care medicine interesting in veterinary school, she finds it very rewarding to be able to help pets and people whenever needed. Dr. Keizer grew up in the West Michigan area and is happy to once again be near family and friends, especially her husband, John, and Yorkshire terrier, Pepper. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time at the beach, biking, reading, watching movies, crocheting, and traveling.
